New Kymco ATV due soon

Kymco launch MXU 500 with IRS and Injection in Melbourne. Quadsales will review come December.

Kymco has announced that the MXU 500i IRS will compliment the already extensive ATV line-up, but it will not replace the existing 500 carb version of the MXU 500... both will be available.

Alan Collins from Kymco stated, "the introduction to the MXU range with a fuel injected model was exciting, as Kymco has finally taken the step towards the advancement of EFI".

The MXU 500i IRS has a newly redesigned chassis with an anti-sway bar and independent front & rear suspension. It also has some nice alloy wheels which may appeal to some, as Kymco stated during their media launch "not all farmers like steel wheels".

The IRS version excites us at quadsales.com.au because our MXU 500 review noted that the single swing arm version made the bike a little stiff in undulations.

The Kymco MXU 500i IRS, 498.5cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with high and low range transmission, selectable two and four-wheel drive, should make for a great machine. The power is delivered via a CVT transmission and a sealed shaft final drive. Towing capacity is 453kg, with a 100kg payload on the racks. The latest model boasts 225mm of ground clearance and a 17-litre fuel tank for the longer days work.

The Kymco MXU 500i IRS is next on the list of demos, and we've got a great place to test it out in Victoria. Check back mid December for the report on this fantastic ATV.

The Kymco UXV 500 (SXS) has an EFI brother sold in the USA and Europe, but no plans as of yet have been made to introduce the UXV with the EFI engine, thus keeping the price point attractive. Keeping it simple......
